District Technician Position

Salary:  The anticipated starting pay is $20 per hour for this 30-40 hour per week position. Pay is based on grant funding and is subject to changes in the budget.


Closing Date:  5:00 pm, May 19, 2017


Position:  The District Technician performs field and office functions in the development of land management plans dealing with aspects of farm plans, water quality and erosion control for cooperating landowners in Clatsop County.  The person in this position applies for grants funds from appropriate sources available to complete conservation projects, invasive species control and landowner outreach.

Minimum Qualification:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in natural resource management, environmental science, soil science, civil engineering, business management, a natural science, or a related field, or experience working for a natural resources agency, organization, or business.
  • Sufficient mobility and ability, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the physical functions of the job, in the office or in the field.
  • The ability to operate a motor vehicle during daylight hours, after dark and during inclement weather.  In order to carry out these assigned duties, possession of a valid state-issued driver’s license and personal vehicle is required (reimbursement of mileage is available).
  • Knowledge and experience in Geographic Information Systems and Global Positioning Systems.
  • A driving record clear of significant moving violations for the past five years.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug screen.
